Job Description

The Recruitment Consultant is involved in ensuring the professional service and ongoing growth of the company’s industrial & technical recruitment services.

Main Accountabilities


Sales Activity

• Manage various client accounts, ensuring that you provide the quality and quantity of staff needed
• To consistently win new business through on-going sales activity
• Building relationships with clients over the telephone, face to face and also in writing
• To gain a business advantage in the industry through investigative research, analysis and follow though on information required
• Negotiating pay and salary rates and finalising arrangements between client and candidate
• Constantly promote The Personnel People

Team Working & Development

• Maintain good working relationships with colleagues
• Share knowledge and best practice
• Act as a role model and drive common goals & objectives
• Meet challenging & stretching objectives and ensure effective performance

Commercial and Financial Acumen

• Provide creative ideas for raising the company profile
• Ensure the ongoing visibility of The Personnel People
• Provide Payroll with weekly summary sheets accurately and on time
• Ensure departmental budgets are adhered to

Documentation

• Screening candidates, interviewing them and selecting suitable candidates to put forward to client companies
• To administer and comply with company policies and legislative guidelines
• Ensure candidates provide suitable documents for Legal Requirements
• Ensure you provide candidates with suitable documents for legal requirements
• Accurate and timely completion of sales activity reports
• Placing and maintaining web adverts, window and A board adverts and any other advertising as agreed/required

Skills/Competencies

• Proven sales skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation & influencing skills. Be friendly, approachable at all times and enjoy both telephone and face to face contact with people
• Confidence in dealing with all kinds of people, a decisive manner and ability to retain lots of information
• Be highly organised with a fine attention to detail, good time management, multi tasking and good keyboard/computer literacy skills
• Drive, determination and self-motivation to achieve success
• Ability to work under pressure in a targeted environment
• Quality consciousness, thoroughness and accuracy
• Ability to work to tight timescales
• The ability to work as part of a team

• Hold a full UK Driving Licence and be willing to provide an out of hours emergency on call service on a rota basis (1 week in 3) once trained



Experience, qualifications and other requirements specific to the role

In addition to the Skills/Competencies
Preferred
• Minimum 2 years prior experience in a sales role (gained in private sector)

Whilst previous recruitment experience would be ideal, applicants who can demonstrate the above qualities and show an excellent attitude towards hard work will happily be considered.


This position comes with an attractive basic salary (which will be negotiated based on previous experience) and a very competitive commission structure. Applicants can expect earnings of between £20,000 - £30,000 per annum OTE.
