Job Description
Our client is seeking an International Transport Manager, to be based in Gt Yarmouth
Candidates should be knowledgeable with Customs paperwork and be fully conversant with drivers hours and tachograph laws.
This role requires a person with a good level of knowledge gained from a current or recent role handling international travel. For instance applicants applying for this role should know how long it takes to travel from Birmingham to Lisbon, should know what temperature to set the refrigerated trailer at when carrying chocolate or bacon, should have knowledge of ferry crossings from Finland to Sweden, or Italy to Greece, should also know the various vehicle weight/height/length restrictions in the different countries of both Europe and the Eastern Bloc, and what paperwork and vehicle documents a driver needs to carry when entering Russia. They should be able to plan and route vehicles (a fleet of 60 vehicles daily)and supply costings for a job say from Hungary to Dublin.
These are just a small amount of things that an International Transport Manager needs to know, our Client need somebody with the knowledge of all the above, plus more, they need an experienced candidate as they do not have the time to train anybody.
In recognition of these skills our Client is offering an attractive salary which will be dependent on skills and experience but should be in the region of £27,000 per annum (negotiable for the right person).
