A. Job Role
1. The Site Supervisor / Contracts Assistant is to report directly to the Contracts Director to assist in the running of the busy Contracts Dept on Projects throughout the Country although predominantly in East Anglia / the South East
2. The successful candidate should have a sound basic knowledge of new build Industrial Roofing / Cladding together with a good understanding of Health & Safety Regulations.
3. The successful candidate will ideally already be established within the Industrial Roofing sector of the Construction Industry and will be required to supervise and motivate sub contract labour, liaise with the Client’s Site Team and our drawing office.
4. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, ambitious, enthusiastic and capable of being part of a team.
5. It would be beneficial for the successful candidate to have IT experience (ie: MS Word / Outlook / Excel) although additional training will be available.
6. The position offers a company vehicle and future opportunities for career advancement.
7. The successful candidate will ideally be located in East Anglia preferably Norfolk and will be prepared to visit sites throughout the Country.
8. Some overnight stays away from home will be necessary
B. List Of Duties
1. Attend weekly site meetings / liaise with Clients Site Staff
2. Check compliance of works with agreed contract/target programmes
3. Record progress of works to enable checking of Sub-Contractor’s claims for payment
4. Ensure works are always carried out safely and in accordance with the contract method statement and risk assessments
5. Assist in the preparation of method statements / risk assessments
6. Carry out pre-start site checks ie: Check nets up, handrails up, edge protection in place etc
7. Carry out pre-start site checks ie: Check ground conditions suitable for commencement of wall cladding operations and for safe use of access platforms
8. Carry out pre-start site checks ie: Check ground conditions and access onto site suitable for crane visits to site etc in accordance with craneage plan.
9. Check the crane/rigging/on board documentation in accordance with the checklist contained within the method statement
10. Check and sign crane timesheets.
11. Carry out new operative site inductions and ensure method statements signed by all operatives
12. Ensure operatives are all wearing the correct ppe as detailed within method statements
13. Carry out weekly inspections of plant, safety nets, handrails, ladders, tower scaffolds etc
14. Check materials being stored safely and securely
15. Receive deliveries – check and sign delivery tickets / return tickets to Office
16. Prepare reports on progress / check and record plant on site
17. Complete daily site logs when required
18. Check small site plant is being stored securely overnight
19. Inspect works and ensure being carried out in accordance with contract QA checklists
20. Assist in preparation of QA checklists
21. Site measure and order materials when required
22. Assist in the preparation of job completion O&M Manuals and job guarantee documentation
23. Prepare and issue contract correspondence as required
24. Ensure that the site operatives maintain a clean site at all times ie: clean up once a week
25. Liaise with Sub-Contractors / Clients regarding claims for dayworks
26. Submit daywork sheets to Clients / chase signing of daywork sheets
27. Obtain instructions from Clients for requested additional works
28. Assist with organising site staff training / deal with the resultant correspondence/grant claims
